I have an old Dana Cruise Control, do you have service parts still available?

Will the "steering wheel" mounted switch work on my car?

How does the "G" kit differ from other Cruise Controls?

The "G" kit was specifically designed for "GM" Vehicles. GM Vehicles are already pre-wired for cruise control application. All you do is plug it in!

What are my options for acquiring cruise installation information?

We have several options available. Located on this web site you will find both application information and VSS/TACH information. You can download an installation manual. You can also fax your question to 910-276-3759 for information to be faxed to any location. Click on the search button below to find your vehicle information.

Does the Cruise Control kit come with everything I need?

Rostra manufactures universal cruise controls. You will need to purchase a switch or handle according to your vehicle type. You may also need to purchase an adaptor or signal generator depending on the model year and vehicle type. Search our Application Guide located on this web site for specific information.

My vehicle is not listed

If you vehicle is not listed, we do not have an application at this time.

On the self diagnostic procedure:

  1. Where is the LED?
    Answer: LED is a surface mount light on circuit board to the left of switch one of the programming
    switches.
  2. LED is staying on during test procedure.
    Answer: If LED Stays on during test you have a poor ground on black wire main ground of unit or
    Violet wire cold side of brake or switch 12 of programming switches is in wrong position.
  3. LED will not come on during test procedure.
    Answer: If LED does not light then there is a power related problem check Red wire hot side brake
    +12 constant or Brown wire Accessory power +12 when key is on.

    Note: When using LED tail lights will require Automotive Relay five function to bypass brake
    system LED do not let Violet wire cold side brake see ground threw brake lights. Wire in as
    following:

85 to cold brake (+12V when brake is pressed)
86 to Ground
87 N/A
87A to violet wire from cruise harness
30 to Ground

On the programming switch settings:

  1. Where are programming switches?
    Answer: Programming switches are located under black rubber grommet on top of cruise module.
  2. What is Gain (Sensitivity)
    Answer: Gain is how cruise reacts to road conditions and motor size always start at factory setting
    which is Mid gain if vehicle surges change gain. Fast surge go down to low or extra low if needed to
    tune cruise. Slow surge go up in gain to high.
  3. What is Engine/Setup Timer?
    Answer: Engine/Setup Timer is how fast cruise retracts in cable on set always start at low if vehicle
    drops below set speed but then recovers go to high or Extra high if still not acceptable.

    Note: All settings are based on 1/8 inch slack in cable more slack will cause cruise to surge or lose
    speed on set.
